Eligibility — Age & Education (highlights)
Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 34 years as on 01 July 2025 (upper age relaxations apply for SC/ST/BC/EWS/ex-servicemen / others as per rules).
Educational qualifications: Post-wise qualifications range from M.Sc. (for Scientific Officers / Assistants) to B.Sc. / Intermediate (for Laboratory Technicians / Attendant). For example, Scientific Officer (Physics) requires M.Sc. in Physics or Forensic Science with Physics with minimum prescribed aggregate marks; Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) requires B.Sc. with Chemistry. Fee Details
Application fees (per post / subject) are as follows (local SC/ST vs others):
- Scientific Officers: SC/ST (local) — Rs.1,000; All Others — Rs.2,000.
- Scientific Assistants: SC/ST (local) — Rs.1,000; All Others — Rs.2,000.
- Laboratory Technicians: SC/ST (local) — Rs.600; All Others — Rs.1,200.
- Laboratory Attendant: SC/ST (local) — Rs.500; All Others — Rs.1,000.
Payment modes include Credit/Debit cards, Net Banking, and other options provided on the TSLPRB portal. After payment, you must complete and submit the online application — payments without submission will be rejected and fees will not be refunded.
Selection Process (brief)
The selection for most posts uses a weightage + written exam system. Weightage (academic + experience) typically carries 70 marks and the written test carries 30 marks (varies by post; some posts have 25 marks written test and different weightage totals). Shortlisting for the written test is usually in the ratio of 1:5 (candidates:vacancies) based on weightage marks. Final selection is on aggregate (weightage + written).
