6,196 Applications Received for GPO Posts in Telangana
The Telangana government has received a total of 6,196 applications for the post of Gram Panchayat Officers (GPOs). These applications were submitted by former Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs), who were given the first preference for these new positions.
The state plans to fill GPO posts in all 10,954 villages across Telangana. In the initial phase, the government offered the opportunity exclusively to ex-VROs and VRAs by inviting online applications.
As part of the selection process, a written examination will be conducted in the first week of next month. After identifying the eligible candidates based on their performance, the remaining vacancies, if any, will be filled through a general notification inviting fresh applicants.
The government’s move aims to strengthen the village-level administrative system by utilizing the experience of former VROs and VRAs.
