Vacancies & Pay

Post Code JST01 — Junior Stenographer: 01 post (Reserved for ST). Pay Level-4; approx. total emoluments ₹52,755 in Class ‘X’ city. Upper age limit: 27 years (as on 12.09.2025). 

Post Code MTS02 — Multi-Tasking Staff: 08 posts: UR-03, EWS-01, OBC (NCL)-02, SC-01, ST-01. Pay Level-1; approx. total emoluments ₹35,393. Upper age limit: 25 years (as on 12.09.2025). :

Eligibility & Job Profile

Junior Stenographer (JST01)

  • Essential Qualification: 10+2/XII or equivalent with stenography proficiency @ 80 w.p.m. (English/Hindi). 
  • Skill Test Pattern: One dictation (10 minutes) @ 80 w.p.m.; transcription: 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi). Qualifying in nature. 
  • Nature of duties: Secretarial/stenographic assistance, typing, and other official work as assigned.

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS02)

  • Essential Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent. 
  • Desirable: Intermediate (Class 12) and relevant work experience. 
  • Indicative areas of work: Office maintenance (records, cleanliness, dak, photocopy/FAX), Hospitality services (guest house upkeep, guest support, beverages, possible shift duties), Horticulture/Housekeeping (garden upkeep, watering, fertilizing, pest control), and Transport (vehicle upkeep, records/logs, billing, FASTag/insurance; may drive with honorarium as per rules).

Selection Process

Junior Stenographer (JST01)

  • Proficiency Test in Stenography: Qualifying only. 
  • Competitive Written Examination: One paper (Parts I–III), objective type (OMR/CBT), standard: Class 12, 200 questions, 2 hours; negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer. Final merit based on written exam only (subject to qualifying stenography).
  • Sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Q), General Awareness (50 Q), English Language & Comprehension (100 Q).

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS02)

  • Stage 1 — Trade Test: Practical test in chosen area; qualifying. 
  • Stage 2 — Written Exam (CWE): Objective (OMR), standard: Class 10, 150 questions, 2 hours; marking: +3 per correct, −1 per wrong. Final merit based on CWE. 
  • Sections: General Intelligence (25 Q), General Aptitude (25 Q), General Awareness (50 Q), English Language (50 Q). 

Note: Order of conducting shorthand test vs. written exam for JST may be decided by the competent authority; tie-breaking rules are provided in the notification. 

How to Apply

  1. Apply online via CSIR-IICT → Careers on the institute website; register with a valid email ID, then log in to complete the form. 
  2. Application Fee: ₹500 per post code (SBI Collect → Govt. Departments → Telangana → Indian Institute of Chemical Technology → Application Fee for Recruitment). Exempted: SC/ST/PwBD/Women/CSIR Employees/Ex-Servicemen (upload proof). 
  3. Upload required documents: photo, signature, left thumb impression, DoB proof, qualification/marksheets, category certificates (as applicable), experience, NOC (if employed in Govt./PSU/Autonomous/CSIR), etc. 
  4. Verify details, submit, and retain a printout of the final application; no hard copy to be sent now. 

Important: Applications without requisite documents/fee will be rejected. All updates (exam schedule, call letters) will be notified on the IICT website and via email only.

Reservation, Relaxations & General Conditions

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen is as per Government of India norms. OBC (NCL) candidates must upload a latest NCL certificate valid on the closing date; EWS candidates must upload a valid Income & Asset certificate with the relevant financial year; detailed conditions on age relaxations (including for PwBD and certain categories of women) and scribe/compensatory time are provided in the notification.

All posts carry All-India Service Liability; probation: 2 years (extendable/curtailable). Canvassing leads to disqualification.
